Microsoft Exchange Database Agent - Allowing
the seamless backup of Exchange databases. A full shadow
copy of the database is run prior to backup and it is the shadow
copy which is backed up. This means there is no need to
close the database while the backup process is running. The
retention period can be set to a period to suite you, so it is
possible to restore back to a point in time many years ago.
Microsoft Exchange 2010 is fully supported.
Microsoft Mail Level Backup - This agent is
used in conjunction with the above database agent. Allows
the backup and recovery of individual mails or components of a
mailbox. Please note when only
performing backup to the Exchange server at mail level, it is not
be possible to restore the full database in the case of total data
loss disaster. Mail level backup is only supplementary to
the server level backup and can not replace it.
Microsoft Exchange 2010 is fully supported.
Microsoft SQL Database Agent - Allows the
backup of any Microsoft SQL database. Works exactly the same
way as the Exchange database module ensuring the SQL database can
be backed up at any time with impacting your daily tasks. A
key fact is that an SQL database compresses very well, so a 10GB
database will compress to less that 2GB therefore maximizing your
online storage.Synthetic Restore - This module simplifies the
restore process. Although data is backed up incrementally,
it does not need to be restored incrementally. If you wish
to restore data as per a particular date, our software
automatically merges the full and incrementals and gives a single
download restore.
Advanced Retention - Allows data to be retained
for long period of time after it has either been deleted from the
server or changed. For example it is possible to create the
following:-
Schedule 1 - Backup daily, retention period 30
days
Schedule 2 - Backup monthly, retention, 12
versions (1 year)
Schedule 3 - Backup annually, retention, 7
versions (7 years)Using this method it is possible to recover
data which has been deleted from the server 7 years ago.
Backup Filtering - A quick and easy module
which allows certain types of data to be excluded, go example you
can select all user data to be backed up but exclude .mp3
extension ensuring only business data is secured.
As the amount of data grows and subsequently
the amount of data stored offsite increases the restore speed has
always been subject to issue should all data be lost. Should
the worst case happen, it may take 24 hours to rebuild or replace
hardware and then take 10 days to download 100GB of data.
This in theory means it could take as long as 2 weeks for a
business back on line. BlockBackup short cuts this restore
process by sending the data in its encrypted state direct to site
within 8 working hours. This means that client data will be
onsite before the hardware has been replaced. It is then
possible to restore to all servers simultaneously at the same time
at network speeds. This restore process will reduce a 100GB
multi server restore time from 2 weeks. |
